The principles of the Konmari Method are not just relevant to the home. Intentional focus toward only having what makes you happy and keeping organization simple and efficient are equally beneficial when applied to travel. 

I use to travel with everything, my motto was always "better to have it, than wish you did". Looking back, this was merely a way for me to justify packing on the fly without too much effort or intention. Interestingly, when I completed the KonMari Method I realized that my previous approach to packing was just delaying frustration. We all know how annoying it is to make our way through a busy airport or try and hail a cab with the awkwardness of too much luggage in tow.

KonMari Kids | Some of my Favourite Toy Organizers

As a follow up to last week's post, where I shared ways to encourage children to become active members in the tidying of the home, this week I wanted to provide you with some of my favourite ways to organize toys. Creating simple, yet effective, ways of organizing toys is instrumental in children being able to manage the tidiness of their play area. When everything has a place and it's easy to know where each toy belongs, it makes for an easy cleanup!

Since completing my home tidying in early 2016, I have been taking my time organizing all areas of our home. You can see all of my organizing videos here. As of late, I find myself revisiting some spaces, like our main linen closet, to focus on creating unexpected areas that especially Spark Joy.
